What is biochar?

Biochar is a stable, carbon-rich material produced by heating suitable biomass under limited-oxygen conditions through pyrolysis. Its properties vary materially with feedstock and production conditions.

Biochar is not a universal soil remedy. Performance depends on feedstock, pyrolysis conditions, contaminant control, product testing, soil type, crop and application rate. Carbon-credit issuance or revenue cannot be guaranteed.
